Letter to Kent City Council

The Kent Higher Ed Coalition has written a letter to submit to Kent City Council and to be read at the meeting on Wed, May 21st. The letter is expressing our appreciation that the City Council decided not to vote on authorizing the city to purchase FLOCK cameras, which would track vehicle licenses as they enter and leave the city limits. The Council decided to postpone the discussion and not vote until October.

Our letter expresses our appreciation that they did not vote for the cameras, and also advocated that they do not vote for the cameras when the discussion is reopened in the Fall. Reach out to kenthigheredcoalition@gmail.com to review the letter or let us know if you can join us at the meeting!

The Kent Higher Ed Coalition

The Kent Higher Ed Coalition is a collective of faculty, staff, students, alumni, and concerned community members. Acting as private citizens and connected to groups across Kent State University and throughout the Kent community, coalition members came together in response to mounting threats to higher education—both in Ohio and across the United States. If you want to be part of an alliance of people committed to creating community and fulfilling the promise of higher education for all, please join us by sharing your email below.
